Today, we are excited to share some news that will take our mission of spreading joy a step further. We're thrilled to announce that PoundFun is now an official partner of the Give A Duck Foundation!
At PoundFun, we understand the importance of being part of something larger than ourselves. This commitment to giving back has led us to form a partnership with a charity organisation whose values and mission we wholeheartedly share: The Give A Duck Foundation.
The Give A Duck Foundation is a children’s cancer charity, supporting local children who have been diagnosed with cancer throughout the UK.
A short message from Andrew & Karen Phillips - Co-Founders of The Give A Duck Foundation:
"The Give A Duck Foundation are delighted to be working with PoundFun to raise vital funds to ensure every child who is diagnosed with cancer in the UK, is given a Chemo Duck.
Chemo Duck is fitted with medical lines and ports to mirror those of the child. Play Leaders, through play therapy use Chemo Duck to prepare children for their treatment, be it an appointment with their Consultant, administering chemotherapy or taking blood samples.
Children feel they can take back some control at a time when they have very little, for example by suggesting that nurses clean the Duck’s Hickman Line or Portacath before their own. Things are less scary if Chemo Duck experiences the treatment the children will go through and provides a relaxed way to have discussions about what will happen to them in hospital.
Chemo Duck really does become the child best friend throughout their cancer journey.

This alliance between PoundFun and The Give A Duck Foundation means that for every purchase made on our website on a product with the Give A Duck Logo on, we will donate a portion of the proceeds to the foundation. This will directly support their efforts in offering a Chemo Duck to every child with Cancer in the UK.
We're also planning to launch joint events with the Give A Duck Foundation, involving our community in fundraising and awareness campaigns.
